Inovape Explains: Vaping & Holidays

InoVape explains vaping & holidays!

With the holiday season fast approaching, it’s a question that has been asked since we first opened our doors & in an ever-changing market and environment; everybody needs to know: “I’m going on holiday and cannot be without my vape; what shall I do?”

Vaping restrictions in other countries

It’s important to note that some countries have placed restrictions and guidelines on how vapes & e-cigarettes are purchased, sold, and used.

Here is a list of the countries where restrictions on E-cigarettes have been placed:

  • Argentina
  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Brazil
  • Brunei
  • Cabo Verde
  • Cambodia
  • Colombia
  • Egypt
  • Ethiopia
  • India
  • Indonesia
  • Iran
  • Iraq
  • Jordan
  • Gambia
  • Laos
  • Lebanon
  • Malaysia
  • Mauritius
  • Mexico
  • Nicaragua
  • North Korea
  • Norway
  • Oman
  • Panama
  • Philippines
  • Qatar
  • Singapore
  • Sri Lanka
  • Suriname
  • Syria
  • Taiwan
  • Tajikistan
  • Thailand
  • Timor-Leste
  • Turkey
  • Turkmenistan
  • Uganda
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Uruguay
  • Vanuatu
  • Venezuela
  • Vietnam

Some of these countries will have laws and restrictions placed & some will have completely banned use altogether. Breaking these rules could result in a hefty fine and could prove to be a real dampener on your holiday! Please don’t take any risks with this and make sure you are clear on the country’s rules & regulations.

In any case, we recommend you contact the airline you’ll be flying with to check & make sure you’re aware of any of these. They are well equipped to answer any of your questions, as I guarantee you won’t be the first person they have given similar guidance to that day!

How to travel with your vape?

Firstly, you need to make sure you’ve got everything you need before you set out. Depending on how long your stay is, you need to make sure you’ve got enough to cover you for the duration & then we would recommend you take a bit extra – speaking from experience, being stuck with no liquid on holiday is not fun!

To help you prepare, we’ve compiled a short list of the things we’d make sure to pack before setting out:

  • Vape/E-cigarette
  • Liquid/Pre-Filled Pods
  • Coils/Pods
  • Charger
  • Batteries (if required) – when travelling with batteries, always keep them protected in a battery case!
  • International plug adapter (depending on the destination)

At the airport

If unsure about the restrictions in your airport, we recommend you check ahead of time to make sure you’re aware of their guidelines. Most airports in the UK have banned vaping anywhere in the terminals. However, like smoking, there are some dedicated vaping areas in certain UK airports.

All vape/e-cigarette devices and associated items must go through security – this includes any disposables. They must not be left in the hold luggage. You can keep them in your carry-on luggage if they are stored safely, ideally in a clear zip bag. Please note that the liquid restrictions placed for your carry-on luggage will also apply to any e-liquid you take with you – it is crucial that you check this with your airline.

On the plane

Whilst onboard, it is strictly prohibited to use your e-cigarette anywhere on the plane. This could see your items confiscated and yourself in serious trouble. You must check your airline’s policy before you fly. As previously mentioned, failure to comply to any airline policies or those of the country in question could lead to fines or even being detained.

Hopefully, we’ve helped to clear any concerns or worries you have about taking your vape/e-cigarettes on holiday. As long as the guidance above is followed & you’ve checked with your airline/holiday rep for the relevant guidance for your country – you should be ready to kick back and relax, all with your vape in hand!

As ever, if you need any guidance from us – please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Either by email (info@ino-vape.com) or by giving any of our stores a call!
